It's Championship Week at OGRL, where we're celebrating the crowning of 5 new series champions. Kicking things off with last night's ARCA race, the competition was intense at The Roval in Charlotte, with 60 challenging laps testing the drivers' skills and patience.
James Santoyo and Scott Negus engaged in a closely contested points battle, separated by less than ten points. Greg Lankford and Lightning Bolton were also in the mix. Lightning secured the pole position, with Santoyo on the outside and Scott starting third. Greg opted to start at the rear to avoid potential chaos.
Anthony Propst, starting eighth, stole the show by taking the lead by lap two and maintaining his dominance throughout the race, lapping the entire field. While Lightning held onto second place, it wasn't enough to deter James and Scott, who finished third and fourth, respectively.
The night concluded with Anthony taking the checkered flag and James securing the overall points title. Congratulations to both drivers!
We extend our gratitude to all the drivers for making our inaugural season on the oval side of OGRL a success. Their consistent participation and thrilling races made it all possible.
Tonight, we shift gears to the dirt track to crown our second champion of the week at Lanier. Johnny Brug may have won earlier this season, but the championship is firmly within Mark's grasp with 5 race wins this year. No other driver can catch him. Congratulations, Mark!
